Before you dive headfirst into tackling all the to-do’s for the week, check in with yourself and set an intention for the week.
How do you want to feel this week?
Intentions aren’t static. They’re living, breathing things that evolve as you do. Sometimes the intention you set for the week before just doesn’t cut it anymore. Maybe life threw you a curveball, or maybe you’ve simply outgrown that feeling. Whatever the case, give yourself permission to adjust.
The Non-Negotiables
Once your intention is set, grab a trusty planner and start mapping out the week. But don’t only inlcude the mundane tasks that we all have to tackle. We’ve all got responsibilities – work, parenting, a partner, extended family, errands, housework, etc. Just because these things are necessary doesn’t mean they have to drain your spirit.
Are You Living Your Truth?
Here’s where it gets real. After penciling in the must-do’s, take a step back and ask yourself, “Is this plan really me? Or am I just doing what I think I should be doing?”
There’s a big difference between living a life that reflects being true to yourself and going after your dreams versus one that’s built on the expectations of others.
You don’t have to wait for a life-altering moment to start aligning your life with your essence. You can do it in small ways every week.
Taking Risks and Facing Consequences
You might be thinking, “I have responsibilities. I can’t just throw caution to the wind and chase my dreams.” And as true as that is, it doesn’t mean you can’t take risks or that you can’t take steps towards living a life that feels more like you.
Here’s the thing: there are always consequences to our actions. And sometimes, the universe (or Mercury retrograde) will throw those consequences right back in our faces. And that’s where the growth happens. When things don’t work out the way you planned, it’s not a failure. It’s a lesson. It’s a chance to adjust, to evolve, and to get even closer to your true self.
Find Joy in the Unexpected
Living authentically means embracing trial and error. It means trying new things, even if you’re not sure they’ll work out. It’s not the success that defines you; it’s the trying. Sometimes, the things that bring you the most joy are the ones you least expect.
Incorporate the Essence of You into Your Weekly Plan
How do you bring the essence of you into your weekly plan? Start by identifying the things that make you feel most alive, most like yourself. Maybe it’s a hobby you’ve neglected, a new skill you want to learn, or a spontaneous adventure you’ve been dreaming about. Whatever it is, make time for it.
And don’t be afraid to try something new, even if it’s outside your comfort zone. Sure, you might stumble. You might try something and realize it’s not for you. But that’s not a failure. It’s you becoming more you.
Why the Journey Matters
Finding joy in the process is just as important as the end result. When you live in a way that’s true to your essence, every step of the journey becomes meaningful. Even the setbacks, the adjustments, the moments of doubt—they’re all part of your growth.
As you sit down to plan, ask yourself:
- What is the essence of me?
- How can I honor that essence in the days ahead?
Maybe it’s something as simple as setting aside time to read that book you’ve been meaning to get to, or maybe it’s something bigger, like making a bold decision that changes the course of your life.
And if you face any challenges along the way, remember: it’s all part of the process. Adjust, try again, and keep moving forward.
We’re all figuring this out together, one wild, untamed, and authentic step at a time!
