How do you feel about being alone with yourself? Alone in your thoughts, your energy, with nothing else to do and nobody to answer to?

Who are you when you take off all the hats you wear to be productive and worthy and good in the world that we live in? What is left when you shed it all away and it’s just you and your light illuminating the area immediately around you?

This is the vibe of the full moon lunar eclipse in Virgo hitting us March 3, 2026. We’re going to talk about the Hermit card, which is the card associated with Virgo energy. We’re going to talk about your identities, being alone with yourself. We’re going deep.

What Makes This Work Different

Since 2016, I’ve been making magic with the Sisters Enchanted community. Ten years. And I was thinking about what makes what we do here different, especially in this moment where we’re experiencing Pluto in Aquarius energy (it’s there till 2043, and it’s something we really should not lose sight of because the world as we know it is changing).

How can the Sisters Enchanted support you right now? In a world where you probably have tons of digital clutter. Where social media is telling you left, right, and center who you should be. Where we’ve got AI making women feel even smaller than we’ve ever felt before. The world is telling women to get in line, get in place. It feels like we’re waging a battle left, right, and center. And that’s energetically taxing.

One of the ways we can support you is in helping you remember who you are under all of the roles that you fill in your life. Because when you know who you are at your core, you become unshakable.

Why Self-Trust Changes Everything

You trust yourself in such a way that you know that no matter what happens, you have the capability to stand back up, to rise like a phoenix and do the next thing. You might not even know what that is, but you will find it because you trust yourself to find it.

Coming home to your self-trust starts with knowing who you are underneath everything the world has told you you should be. And this lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 3 is a wonderful time to get quiet, to go within.

Who Are You Under All The Roles?

So many of us can’t answer this question. When I ask, who are you? Tell me about yourself. You’re going to tell me about your job. Your family. Your education. Your hobbies. We put all of these external words onto who we are.

But who are you without any of that?

Astrology can help us answer that question because your birth chart is this cosmic DNA that really helps you to identify the unique medicine you were born with.

Understanding This Lunar Eclipse

At a full moon, the sun is illuminating the moon. At full moons, we release. We let go. We make space for new things in our life to come into being. We do shadow work at full moons.

At a lunar eclipse, the earth gets between the sun and the moon for a quick period of time, casting its shadow on the moon. Eclipse seasons are big portals of change.

With this lunar eclipse, look back six months ago to the solar eclipse that happened September 21. Anything that got set in motion then (whether intentionally or unintentionally), we can look to this full moon now as a time of culmination. An ending period. The release of whatever was set in motion there.

What’s been in motion since September? What are you ready to release, let go of? What’s ready to shift to the next level?

The Energy of Virgo

Virgo gets a perfectionist rap (kind of true and untrue), a healer energy, a fixing-it energy. I actually think of Virgo as a mother energy. The day-to-day tending energy.

Virgo rules health, daily routines, service, work, details, self-improvement. What needs to end with our daily routines? What needs to end on our self-improvement journey? What are we trying to fix?

Virgo is also about identities because it rules service. How we identify in service roles (motherhood, sisterhood, daughterhood, volunteering, the jobs we do).

Who am I in my aloneness when I’m not doing all of these roles? Who am I when I’m only in service to myself, not in service to all this other stuff that tells me I need to do X, Y, and Z in order to be good?

Maybe what needs to end here is the lack of service to yourself and the promise to come home to your energy.

The Hermit Card: Three Different Visions

The Hermit card is the card of Virgo energy. The traditional imagery depicts a figure holding a lantern. Just the person and the lantern. The aloneness and the light that is still generated when this person is alone. They are illuminating their own path. The light is not being cast on them by external lamps and other people.

I pulled the Christina Ricci Hermit card. She has a scarf over her mouth and nose, holding a little match lit up to guide the way forward. This really speaks to silencing yourself and just showing your inner light.

What is the spark within you that will show when you can’t describe who you are? When you can’t rattle off to the world how you are of service? When you can only show your spark, what is that spark?

Then I pulled the Shadowlands Tarot Hermit. This one’s a ghost. The ghost has no arms, so it’s not holding the lantern. But the lantern hangs next to the ghost, illuminating it. The ghost has no mouth. Just eyes wide open.

What is the ghost of you? What is the energy of you that’s left behind when you’re not doing all the Virgo doing?

he Shadow Side You Need to Explore

The shadow of Virgo energy is criticism of oneself and others, overworking, workaholism, perfectionism, getting lost in fixing the world instead of working on yourself or just being in yourself.

This lunar eclipse in Virgo is begging us to explore that shadow. Begging us to explore who we are when we put it all down.

This Is Your Journey to Mine

This is an internal journey. It’s not one that somebody can deliver the answers to you on a silver platter. When you’re doing it for yourself with your own energy, your own mind, your own hands, you will know yourself better than you’ve ever known yourself before.

You cannot lose when you know who you are and you have self-trust. You cannot lose when you have healed that witch wound of creating your identity based on appearing a certain way in the world or being safe in community because you’re the good person.

Becoming a Beacon

The more self-trusting you are, the less you will be consumed by the chaos energy thrown at us every single day. You will know how to clear your own energy of everything pulling at you.

And in that way, you become a beacon for other people to do the same. You become a lighthouse. You raise the energy for folks to rise to.

Let’s be the energy folks rise to.

Generate Your Own Light

There is no guru who can tell you who you are. Think about that Hermit card. Generate your own light, hold your own lamp, do the investigating yourself.

Who are you under all of the identities? How does that energy remain when you’re not fulfilling those roles? What needs to end from six months ago for you to make space for this journey?
