Have you ever looked at your horoscope and been like “This doesn’t really sound like me,” or a description of yourself, an astrological description. Maybe you’re a Gemini, maybe you’re a Sagittarius, maybe you’re a Scorpio, I don’t know, but have you ever looked at a horoscope, read about yourself, and you’re just like, “It just doesn’t quite fit, and this other thing over here seems way more relevant.” I feel like that’s probably happened to all of us. So today we’re going to talk a little bit about this, why that happens and what that might mean.
There are so many different parts to it. There are eight planets, 12 houses, 12 signs, and they’re all interacting with each other and changing the way that the energy works. So just because one thing doesn’t seem relevant to you doesn’t mean that it’s not part of your personality and that other things aren’t playing into it as well.
So if I’m a Sagittarius. I look at my birth chart, or I look at a horoscope or a prediction, and maybe I’m like, “I don’t know. It just doesn’t fit, or these last five predictions just didn’t fit for me.” What’s the next step? What should somebody look at next if they feel like they’re in that position?
The next step would be to look at the house that it’s in because the houses tell where in your life things are taking place so you can see where that energy is coming out. It might not be on a grand journey. It might just be in learning about something new or taking the next step in your education or something like that.
So if we look at our horoscope, a prediction for us, whatever we’re reading, and it just doesn’t feel right you’re like just pull up your free birth chart somewhere, and check out what house it’s in. This is like a whole other level of astrology which is really super cool, and we actually have some super useful posts and information over on our YouTube channel and our Facebook page where you can learn more about what that even means if you’re new to astrology and you’re like, “Wait for a second, I’m just sitting over here minding my Sagittarius business. What is a house?”
I live in a house.
You can learn about all these different pieces of astrology. Our advice to you is to look at that birth chart and see, perhaps, where your sun actually is and how that’s interacting with you and maybe what you’re reading isn’t relevant to you because it’s not focused on what’s happening in your life at that moment.
Many times horoscope writers actually take your ascendant sign, (the sign sitting on the first house), and they write about that instead of your actual sun sign, and that’s just because it’s how you’re viewing the world. Because of that, I would recommend to always check your Ascendant (or rising) sign too.
Your sun and your rising are most likely completely different. For me, I feel like I can best relate to something like a horoscope or predictive information when I sort of look at Sagittarius(my sun) and then I look at Cancer (my rising) and kind of mesh the two together because, for me, I feel like my Sagittarius sun often just fuels whatever’s happening for my Cancer rising which isn’t always so good.
Look at that rising sign, look at your sun sign and kind of put them together and see what that equals for you and take out the bits and pieces that feel relevant.
So the next time you are reading your horoscope, and it just doesn’t seem to apply to you, go take a look at a free birth chart, see what house an event may be happening in, and also compare the themes of your rising vs your sun sign, and those horoscopes may be a little more illuminating than usual.
