 Let’s start with our regular practice: vision casting for the week ahead. Think about the intention you set for this year, this lunar cycle, or this season. If you haven’t set one, that’s okay—now is the perfect time to start. Ask yourself: how do you want to feel? This baseline intention is crucial for aligning your actions with your desired way of being.

 From here, look at your calendar for the week. Fill it in with all your commitments and activities. You’ll organize your time and get a clear picture as to whether or not you are aligning your actions with your vision.

 For example, if you want to feel passionate and bold but your calendar is filled with monotonous tasks, it’s time to reassess.

 

Aligning Your Schedule with Your Intentions

When planning your week, start with the immovable objects—work hours, appointments, and any fixed commitments. Once these are in place, assess your energy and capacity for additional activities.

 For example, if your week is already packed with work and family responsibilities, adding a major project might lead to overwhelm. Instead, prioritize and focus on what truly matters.

 This approach helps prevent overcommitting and ensures you have the energy to fulfill your priorities. Remember, it’s okay to have weeks with fewer commitments. This creates space for unexpected events and self-care, maintaining your overall well-being.

 

Seeking Acceptance and Validation

A significant barrier to living in alignment with your intentions is the desire for acceptance and validation from others. We often make decisions based on whether we feel they will make us belong or be accepted. For instance, you might hesitate to schedule a solo hike because others might deem it unsafe or unusual. Or, at work, you might conform to group norms, even if they don’t align with your personal goals.

Ask yourself: is there something you’re hesitant to add to your calendar because you fear judgment? Or are you doing something solely because it brings you external validation, even though it doesn’t make you happy? Identifying these patterns is crucial for making choices that truly resonate with your inner self.
