The Lion’s Gate Portal is upon us, friends!

Okay, so, one of these thoughts probably just went through your mind:

1. What the heck is the Lion’s Gate Portal?

2. I’ve heard of this, how do I know it isn’t hogwash?

3. Yes! Give me all the Lion’s Gate goodies! 

Let’s begin with the deets on the Lion’s Gate Portal. 

There are two different ideas coming together to form the thing that is the Lion’s Gate. First, we have numerology! The eighth day of August, or, 8/8 is said to be a day of great abundance. 8 is a number of success, luck, and goals achieved. But, this only comes through balance. 

This numerological information is being combined with mythology and the stories of the star, Sirius. Right now, the Sun is in Leo where it is said to be at its brightest, hottest, and most potent. Of course, this only makes sense for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. 

The star, Sirius, is known to be the brightest star in the sky. In Egyptian mythology it is said that the Sun and Sirius came together to make the heat of the Summer. In other stories we see Sirius as being feared. Often shining brightest and most visible in winter (likely because of the long winter nights), it was feared that Sirius could be as powerful as the Sun and destroy crops and the land as it wasn’t yet warm enough for them to grow. 

This Lion’s Gate Portal is said to open when the Sun, the Earth, and Sirius are all forming a triangle of sorts and are at a specific angle. While we look at 8/8 as being the Lion’s Gate Portal, this alignment actually lasts for much longer than one day. 

Typically we can look at the end of July through about three weeks-ish into August as the time of this alignment. Add the numerology of 8/8 on top, and we’ve got the makings of a witchy day for sure. 

Here are some things to consider today and for the next few weeks as we come to the New Moon in Leo later in August:

-What are you feeling really passionate about lately? What is driving you creatively?

-What fears are holding you back from chasing your dreams?

-Where is your energy focused right now? What are you currently abundant in (remember, abundance can come in all forms) that you might not want to continue to be abundant in?

-What abundance do you currently desire? Dig deep on this…is it actually at the root of what you need and want? 

-Set your focus on one intention right now. Scattered energy gets you scattered results.
