“The belladonna is in my bag”.
Belladonna and tequila, midnight margaritas, and bath and body products so good that even the local frowned upon witch lady could make a living selling them.
The 90s classic Practical Magic taught me about potions before I even really knew what a potion was (and was not).
Turns out belladonna is amazing for fevers as I would learn as a new mom and tequila is amazing for, well, anything!
While potions weren’t explicitly a thing in Practical Magic, pop culture would have the average person believing that potions are made up of strange animal parts and bits of hard-to-find plants that one must journey into the pits of hell and back to harvest. And that they must be brewed up in the most elegant of cauldrons, naturally.
The truth is that potions are liquids used for any purpose at all. The key is that it is used with a purpose.
Whether you are stirring a dash of cinnamon and a sprinkle of inspiration into your morning coffee or conjuring up a healing concoction of essential oils, flower essences, and a mother’s love to heal the most recent evidence of a good bike ride gone bad for a little one, the world of potions is readily available to support you in your everyday life.
Simple steps for creating your first (or next) potion:
Choose your intention
~Take stock of the ingredients in your home
~Consider anything that should not be mixed together or that might not work well or taste well together
~Mix your potion intentionally
~Hold it and visualize your intention coming alive
~Use it!
You can create potions with ingredients you select on purpose or you can use something like lotion and pour your intentions into something already created. You have endless options when it comes to potion making and it’s one of the easiest ways to make each day feel a little more enchanted.

Just wondering where I can find your conversations about tarot cards… like what else is helpful useful aside from the Waite Ryder deck…I’m sure its to be intuitively chosen…but where do I look?
So I think the podcast mashup would work if the did witches in cinema. And the name of the repell potion is pepper spray. Lastly, for the bathtub we use the clorax wands for the toilet but on the tub so that it cleans and scrubs. I have a second wand and scrubs container just for the shower/tub. 🙂
Hiya Anna and Sara!! I am A Tidy witch. My magickal cleaning for my tub, is a simple small brillo pad. They clean beautifully with just a smidge of water. Then once my tub is clean, I take a long hot shower and thats how the brillo pad suds disappearI also have sensitivity to smells, so I use Simple Green on the rest of the sinks, and a capful of bleach for the tolit area.
I also firmly believe if the tub is washed once a month, and the tolit, countertops, and glass area are done once a week, . . . it gives your bathroom a spa essance. To me, thats KEY to making the bathroom feel spa like and relaxing. Also to Sara, I had to share a bathroom with my three kiddos, in one stage in my life. I got plastic tubs, and put the bath toys, shampoo, conditioner, and all the other crap, in the tubs. When kiddo bathtime was over, The buckets were put in a safe spot on a shelf I made with a wooden palate, and then I could enjoy my time. LOL I cannot even cut in a straight line, and see color as “a box of eight” LOL. So I am NOT a creative etsy person, but i hammered in a shelf, and “called it a day” as a single mom of 3.
Anna, I hope I helped you since u did an all call for Tidy witches. Thank you ladies for all you do!! Blessed full moon to you!!
