Scorpio Season has landed in hot today with an eclipse New Moon no less and in today’s podcast, Sara Walka, Founder and Head Magic Maker here at The Sisters’ Enchanted shared some tips on making the best of this heightened New Moon activity, together with a reminder to go gentle with it too and release yourself from expectations. She also shared some ideas on using tarot with Moon Phases and some tips on how you can make best use of those New and Full Moon Tarot Spreads we share across the platforms through each Lunar Cycle.
The Scorpio New Moon
The Lunar Cycle offers us moments to tap into our intentions and check in with ourselves as to whether we are living in alignment with them.
Each New Moon presents us with a wonderful opportunity for brand new intention setting and to rethink what we may do with days and energy ahead.
Scorpio energy is all about the inner world, hidden depths, and transformation. Scorpio invites us to explore what is deep within us, the things hidden in the darkness and then invites us to bring these things to the surface light where we can learn from them and grow.
The Scorpion presents you with a challenge – will you transform and create new stories, new truths and new intentions or sting yourself with the way things have always been.
Scorpio often gets a bad rap and can be seen and described as spooky and confusing. But it is, in fact, one of the most beautiful energies as it presents us with the choice to lean into the dark sides of ourselves, experience and feel those parts of ourselves we have hidden in the darkness, explore this area of ourselves and see what we may want to uncover more of. This then enables us to experience transformation so deep and intense it is like new life. The phoenix rising from the ashes.
Solar Eclipse
Eclipse Moons are super potent and intense. They are markers of change and, though they can bring about expected change, they also present us with the ideal energy to make big changes for ourselves.
A Solar Eclipse is like a heightened New Moon, maxed up on energy for new opportunities and new intentions.
So, this New Moon is a super strong time for transformation and rebirth.
All that Scorpio energy is super heightened as we go into this eclipse Lunar Cycle, with more emphasis on things we may not be seeing of ourselves, the opportunity to explore these hidden things and use them to drive a real strong and intense transformation.
So, what if I missed it?
If you are reading this after the day of the Scorpio New Moon itself, never fear. The New Moon energy lasts for a few days and the first week of the Lunar Cycle is all about feeling your way into your intention over the next week. You can spend the next seven days thinking,
How do I want to feel?
What is being presented to me?
What is Scorpio laying out for me?
With this potent eclipse energy, it is a good idea to take that week to allow the space to see what is being presented, feel into it and let your intention evolve, rather than forcing something.
Using Tarot to Explore Your Intention
You can consider your intention for a Lunar Cycle by simply reflecting how you want to feel over the next 28 days and what will get you to feeling that way.
If you don’t find a clear and definite intention emerges for you then Tarot or Oracle cards are a great tool for exploring your Lunar Intention.
Use the spread prompts to guide and help you to ask questions and jump start you as you translate your feeling into intention.
There are two ways you can do this:
1. Intuitively – This is where you ask yourself each question in the spread, pull a card intuitively from the pack for each one and then weave together a story or message for yourself from the cards and how they speak to each question.
2. Intentionally – It may be that you have an idea of what you would like to transform in your life, you know what doesn’t feel right and what needs change, but don’t know what you want to transform it into or how to go about it. An intentional spread can be great here. This is where you look at prompts in the spread and lay out the cards or look through them at the images and choose with intention which cards you want to use for each position. This enables you to combine your intuition and logic to weave together a story or message that combines what you already know to be true and intuition from the cards to uncover what you are not seeing about what you desire and the next steps to take.
If you don’t have cards, you can use the questions in the spread as journal prompts then explore what you write, draw or doodle to narrow down your intention.
However, you choose to use them, card spreads are great tools for calming your mind and heart space, giving you the space and peace to find information to reveal to yourself. Remember intentions come from within.
Release Expectation
Making Intentions with the Moon is a tool, it is something you can use to help yourself. Yet it is easy to feel a failure through not doing it, through missing a cycle or not remembering sticking to the intention you made with a New Moon.
This can be especially so when you feel you have missed out on making the most of an eclipse.
Expectation leads to failure and during this Eclipse Moon cycle, it is especially important to release expectations.
Don’t rush to make a grand intention, especially if you don’t already know, or more importantly feel, what that should be.
Use the depth and intensity of the Scorpio energy to take your time to see what is happening. The eclipse may be delivering something so deep your ego self may not be seeing it. Go slow and steady and release all pressure on yourself to get it right and to know exactly what your intention should be, let it birth naturally rather than forcing it into being.
