If there’s one thing we hear over and over again from women stepping into their magic, it’s this: “I just want to feel more confident.“
More self-trusting.
Less second-guessing.
Less stuck in self-doubt.
And it’s not surprising. Every time someone enrolls in one of our programs at The Sisters Enchanted—especially Holistic Witchery—we ask them, “If we could wave a magic wand and solve one thing for you, what would it be?”
You guessed it. Some way, somehow, the answer almost always traces back to confidence.
Now, here’s the real talk you probably didn’t know you needed: confidence isn’t a destination.
It’s not something you cross off a checklist like “got milk” or “signed up for that tarot workshop.” And believing it is only makes it feel even more unattainable.
Today, we’re digging into the truth about confidence, some fresh confidence tips you probably haven’t heard before, and how self-trust is the real magic ingredient you’ve been searching for.
My Journey to Accidental Entrepreneurship
Story time: May 1st, 2014. Beltane. A day of fiery beginnings, when life bursts into bloom.
It also happened to be the day I became self-employed… completely by accident.
At the time, I worked for a tiny business running educational advocacy and learning services for kids and adults. Technically, it was a company with four offices—but I worked alone in a sleepy little branch two hours away from the action. Just me, my clients, and a hope that somebody else might eventually be hired to help.
Spoiler: They weren’t.
And on May 1st—two months away from delivering my first baby—the owner called and said, “Hey, so we’re closing your office. Today. Could you, you know, move everything out right now? Because I’m not paying next month’s rent.”
Cue chaos.
And yet, standing there among the dusty furniture and the heavy boxes, I didn’t feel crushed.
I thought: Maybe this is my chance.
Was I confident? Absolutely not. I was pregnant, terrified, and freshly unemployed.
But—I trusted myself. I trusted that I’d figure it out somehow.
And that, my friends, is the moment my life changed forever.
Confidence Is a Moving Target – and Why You Can Never “Catch” It
Let’s be real: most of us are sold this idea that confidence is a trophy. You either have it or you don’t. You achieve it and then it stays put like a diploma on your wall.
But that’s not how it works.
When you tie your confidence to external validation—money, compliments, promotions, someone telling you you’re “good enough”—you set yourself up for an endless cycle of chasing approval.
And the second that approval goes away?
Boom. So does your so-called “confidence.”
The truth is, confidence is elusive because it’s not meant to be caught. It’s meant to be cultivated from the inside out.
And the soil it grows best in? Self-trust.
Why Self-Trust Is the Confidence Tip Nobody Talks About
Here’s the secret sauce: you don’t need more confidence.
You need more self-trust.
I’m not confident every day. (News flash: nobody is.)
But I trust myself every day.
- I trust myself to figure it out when things fall apart.
- I trust myself to try again when I mess up.
- I trust myself to say what matters to me, even if my voice shakes.
- I trust myself to stand back up after a stumble.
And guess what happens when you do that enough?
People start seeing you as confident—even if you still have those little heart-racing, sweaty-palm moments.
Self-trust builds the body of evidence your brain needs to realize, “Hey, I actually can handle this.”
If you take nothing else away from today, let it be this: Confidence grows when you trust yourself to survive the awkward, messy, imperfect moments.

How to Actually Build Self-Trust
Here’s a practical little magic spell for you:
🌙 Ask yourself: How do I want to feel?
☀️ Then ask: What can I do to feel that way?
We call these Lunar Intentions and Solar Goals.
Feel > Action.
Inner world > Outer world.
Every tiny step you take toward feeling the way you want to feel—even if you stumble—reinforces your self-trust.
Self-trust isn’t about being perfect. It’s about proving to yourself, day after day, that you’re someone worth betting on.
Why Witchy Women Struggle with Confidence
If you’ve ever been the “weird one,” the “too sensitive one,” the “why can’t you just chill” one—you’re not alone.
Witchy women carry extra layers of misunderstanding and mislabeling from early on.
We’re told our intuition is silly.
Our feelings are too much.
Our wisdom is threatening.
Little by little, those experiences chip away at our natural self-trust.
And by adulthood, it’s no wonder that so many magical women find themselves wishing for confidence like it’s some rare herb they can’t quite find.
The good news? You don’t have to hunt for it anymore.
You build it. You embody it. You grow it. Starting right where you are.
Energy Centers and Confidence: Why the Lower Chakras Matter
Now, if you’re thinking, “Okay Sara, but what about energy? Isn’t confidence a solar plexus thing?”—you’re absolutely right.
But let’s back it up for a second.
The Solar Plexus Chakra (your personal sun) is all about self-trust, willpower, and personal authority.
However, it can’t radiate fully unless your Root (safety and stability) and Sacral (pleasure and permission) chakras are grounded first.
- You can’t feel powerful if you don’t feel safe.
- You can’t feel creative if you don’t believe you’re allowed to enjoy life.
Confidence blooms when your life is rooted, nourished, and aligned.
This isn’t about bypassing the real, messy parts of life. It’s about weaving stability, pleasure, and permission into your foundation—so your light can shine brighter.
Final Thoughts: Confidence Isn’t Magic (But Self-Trust Is)
Confidence isn’t a prize at the end of a mystical quest.
It’s not something someone else can give you.
It’s not an Instagram aesthetic or a morning affirmation you whisper once and forget.
Confidence is the side effect of showing up for yourself, again and again.
If you’re looking for true, lasting confidence tips, start with these:
✅ Build small evidence that you can trust yourself.
✅ Let stability, safety, and pleasure be your anchors.
✅ Release the need for external validation.
✅ Celebrate tiny wins like they’re major milestones.
✅ Lead with feeling first—action second.
And remember: the most magical thing you can ever conjure… is yourself.
