Saturn and Uranus will be in the orb of their square all year, but we are moving away from the exact square we experienced last week, for a while at least, as they will be exact again on June 14th and December 14th.

That unsettling energy aside, this week is a calmer week in the skies and one that will direct us towards new opportunities in a much gentler way.

Mercury, the messenger, lines up between Saturn and Jupiter

Mercury goes direct from its first retrograde of the year on Saturday, 21st. The planet of thought and communication remains in Aquarius into next month, continuing to challenge us to be innovative and think about things in new ways. 

Mercury goes direct almost exactly midway between Saturn and Jupiter. Mercury is Hermes, the messenger and this placement enables us to synthesise the truths and lessons Saturn has bought our way in the past and use these to help us see and make the best of the opportunities Jupiter is bringing into our future. With all three planets in Aquarius, this week is a great time to think about how lessons in the past have taught us new ways of thinking, being innovative and bringing out the gifts we have that can help make things better for ourselves, our society and the world.  

What has Saturn showed you in the past that can now point you towards new possibilities and help you create new opportunities?

With the Saturn Uranus Square, new things and ideas that we bring into our life really can be crystallised into things that will last and become new ways of being. Saturn will help us to face up to our responsibilities to our goals and follow-through with the work we need to do to make them happen. 

Mars Trine Capricorn: What do you want to achieve practically in life right now?

Mars in Taurus Trines Pluto in Capricorn on February 24th. This creates a harmonious flow of energy between the planet of power, growth and transformation and the planet of will and assertion.  This transit brings us a surge of goal-directed energy towards the things we are ambitious about and where we want to feel powerful and impress people. With both planets in earth signs, we will feel this in a harmonious way, wanting to cooperate with others rather than compete and push ourselves forward. 

Mars in Taurus focuses us on our values as well as material and financial comfort and security. Pluto in Capricorn brings the focus to our day-to-day work patterns and ethic and our determination. We may feel motivated to take a position of leadership or power within our work, such as a promotion in the workplace or upping our game and making ourselves more powerful in our business. 

We may also feel motivated to transform areas of life that are not working well, including within our inner thinking and psychology. This is a good day for making practical changes following recent shadow work. 

We may also be motivated to probe deep into mysteries of life, doing research about things that fascinate us or deep work with esoteric tools like tarot and astrology. All of these things can lead us to transformation and spiritual and physical healing at this time. 

Use this transit to direct your energy towards turning over the soil in your life, to unearth deeply buried treasures of memories, knowledge and talent. Turning the soil creates the right environment for planting seeds and future growth. 

Virgo Full Moon

The week ends with a Virgo Full Moon on 27th February. Virgo wants us to analyse ourselves and our situations to see how we can bring more perfection, healing and beauty. 

 This is the time to continue the work of creating the right environment for your future opportunities and growth that have come to your mind and your motivations through the week.  The Full Moon is the time to let go of the things that will not serve this future.
