Today, we had a Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. For most of us in the US, this eclipse happened in the early hours of the morning. Unless you set an alarm to look up at the sky and see the blood red Moon, it is likely it passed before you woke but the emphasized Eclipse Full Moon will be with us throughout this day and night, and for the coming days ahead.

In this week’s Expedition to Soul podcast, Sara Walka, Head Magic Maker and Founder of The Sisters Enchanted, talked about transformation, how to make the most of this powerful Moon and how to create portals of transformation throughout your everyday life.

Eclipses Emphasize Transformation

Eclipses bring transformation. They emphasize the energy of the Moon.   This is the second Lunar Eclipse of the year, 2022. The first was a Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on May 16th. We also had a partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus on April 30th and Partial Social Eclipse in Scorpio on October 25th. So, this eclipse today is the last in this year’s eclipse season. As such, we can look at it as the ending of an emotional cycle or a cycle of change.

This brings us a great opportunity to look at where we were at the start of this eclipse season, especially the last Lunar Eclipse on May 16th.

Our world and our lives are full of ambiguity. This can cloud our decision making, create too many conflicting intentions and stop us getting to where we want to go. When you think of releasing with the Full Moon, do you really know what you want to release and why? If you don’t it becomes just another thing you are doing for the sake of doing it and another piece of ambiguity that will get in your way. So, to make the most of the opportunity of this Moon, take some time to do some reflection, journaling or pull some cards to really think about the journey you started back in the spring and what you need to release now to bring this into completion.

Think back to what you were doing last spring, the beginning of the eclipse season and the beginning of what has come to pass. Take some time to reflect. This will enable you to really know what part of you needs to die and make space for something else and why.

Reflect, pull cards or journal:

Have you experienced any upheavals between then and this time?

What have you learned?

Where can you see big emotional transformations during this time?

What choices did you have back in the spring? Where have your choices taken you? Where have you been left behind by any choices you did not take? Was it right not to take this choice or has procrastination caused you to get stuck in your energy along the way?

What are you releasing now on this potent Full Moon as a result of this learning?

Norse Mythology and the Wolves in the Sky

In Norse myth we see the sun and the moon being chased through the sky by wolves and it’s said that at the blood moon the wolves have won. The sudden darkness and blood red Moon used to bring a sense of fear, doom and apocalypse to the ancients.

We can apply this to our own lives.

What has been chasing you since this Spring?

Have you been running from things you should be embracing? Or from things where it would be better to run into them, let them swallow you up, like the wolf, to spit you out in pieces from which you can transform?

What emotional blood was shed?

Creating Portals for Transformation in Everyday Life

The next full Lunar Eclipse does not happen until March 2025. But you don’t have to wait this long to transform.

You can also create your own transformation portals by identify how you are entering this period of time, a week, a day or a lunar cycle, and how you hope to exit. Think how am I entering this experience and how am I exiting?

There are three times you can do this:

  1. On a weekly basis, as you prepare for the week ahead
  2. Each and every morning
  3. Before a key moment in time like a big interview or difficult and/or important conversation

Another way to create transformational energy all the time, this energy of emotional growth and release, is through the 5i Spiral of Expansion we teach through our TSE programs and memberships.
