New Moon in Taurus

The 2021 Taurus New Moon is upon us on May 11!

Close your eyes and journey with me for a moment…

You’re relaxing on an oversized reading chair, curled up with a luxurious velour throw, with a crackling candle putting just the right amount of woodsy scent into the air. 

That’s a Taurus vibe. 

Beauty, luxury, material goods…all the matters of physical possessions and this earthly plane fall into the realm of Taurus. 

Fun fact, The Sisters Enchanted was birthed into the world during Taurus season! It’s no coincidence that the merriment of Beltane coincides with Taurus season.

Taurus is an Earth sign and as such brings with it a grounded energy. But, it’s the first of the Earth signs which means it brings with it lots of room for growth and learning. 

With this Taurus New Moon we’ve still got a little over a week left with the Sun in Taurus. Take this opportunity to set an intention that really doubles down on that Taurus energy!

What’s a New Moon without a ritual? Here’s a suggestion for you:

Grab two grounding items, this could be two rocks from your back yard or two dark grounding crystals like a black tourmaline, or even a red jasper. 

Get your hands on some earthy smelling incense or essential oils and some calming music. 

Lay on the ground with your eyes closed, playing the music, burning the incense or oils, and holding a grounding item in each hand. 

Relax for a bit feeling yourself connect to the earth beneath you. Allow yourself to send energetic roots down into the earth and become fully grounded. When you are ready, begin to envision your most beautiful life. What does it look like? Where are you being the bull and setting your sights on something that is not serving you in the end?

After you complete your visualization, set your intentions for this lunar cycle! 

Hot tips for intention setting:

In case you’re the type who likes to have an example to work with, here’s mine for this lunar cycle (tentatively anyway!). 

I have Taurus in the 11th House in my birth chart and my North Node is hanging out there. This is where I have life lessons to learn and can work toward fulfilling my purpose in this lifetime. The 11th House involves friendships and relationships (that’s really just the tip of the iceberg of course…there is SO much to learn about astrology, and we happen to teach a class on it! For this lunar cycle I want to consider my emotional attachment to relationships, material goods, and how I feel about people who think differently from me. 

Some possible intentions for me:

Which will I go with?! I like to sit with the energy of the lunar cycle for a few days before committing so I’m not sure yet but I’m toward feeling secure in my outside the box thinking. 

Maybe I’ll have to create myself a little Taurus nook and ponder on it.
