In this week’s ‘Magic on the Inside’ Sara and Anna talked about this week’s Scorpio Full Moon and Beltane, which you can celebrate on its traditional day of May 1st or where it falls astrologically this year, on May 5th.

The Scorpio Full Moon

Scorpio is one of those signs that tends to have a lot of intensities, making this Moon a really good time for some self-reflection and evaluation. The Moon likes to be in water signs, such as Scorpio, and the Full Moon is the time to both release and manifest. Scorpio loves to release and rebirth, as the great phoenix that it is. So, the Scorpio Full moon is a prime energy for change and transformation.

When we look at a lunar cycle, during the first two weeks we are growing an idea, or we’re growing a way of being, or an intention. Then we have the Full Moon, the high point of a Lunar Cycle, and then everything releases for the next part. With Scorpio energy we can take all of this deeper, looking deep inside us to see what we need to change to keep moving forward with the intentions we set for this cycle, and in our wider lives to be able to achieve our goals.

Working with the Scorpio Full Moon – Time to REALLY let it go!

You can look at your Birth Chart to see where Scorpio is in the houses, or if you have any Scorpio planets as this may point you to where you will most feel the intensity of this Moon, and where you could best work with this transformational energy. Or you could journal on what happens in your life during this moon. lunar track what happens in our lives during a Scorpio full moon.

The Full Moon is the time to release what is no longer serving you, in order to make space to manifest more into your life that will serve you better. When we are following a Moon cycle and we get to this moment for release, it can be all too easy to do something in a superficial way, then we light the paper, or we light the bay leaf, and we let it go. Sometimes we try our best to let things go, but we don’t do it whole-heartedly or with the grandest of intention to actually let it go.

With a Scorpio Full Moon it really is a time of death to the old and transformational rebirth, really letting things go, and coming through with something new.  To actually cut the cord of that full release. This is a really good time to be super final or to do something with such grand attention that you are going to not be superficial about letting something go. Really leave it behind and come out better!

Beltane

Astrological Beltane falls on May 5th this year, many will celebrate on May 1st, but really it is more than just a day, it is a season.  Whenever you feel like the earth has really bloomed around you, that’s your Beltane season. So, come May 1st, if it’s really cold where you are, it might not feel very Beltane-y, and that’s fine. Celebrate when it is warmer for you, or it feels like that Beltane energy. You can celebrate any time in May, really. It’s one of those in-between times where we’re going from the cold and everything’s dead and it feels like the next day it suddenly feels warmer and all the trees have bloomed. It feels like it all happened so fast –  that’s Beltane energy.

We officially move into the light months, the light half of the Wheel of the Year on Beltane. Beltane through Samhain, Halloween is the light half of the year and then Samhain through Beltane is the dark half. So, we are emerging and our Scorpio full moon sets stage.

Beltane is all about fairies, sexy energy, fire, running naked around a Maypole – if that’s your jam, this is the time to do that. The phallic imagery and symbolism of a Maypole is all about the fertility of the season and celebrating things coming to bloom with flowers, flower crowns, merriment, and berries,  honey, the bees and how they pollinate and fertilize the plants. It’s a super fun time!

Working with Beltane Energy

Beltane is all about the masculine and feminine energy coming together, the gods and the goddesses Beltane follows this Scorpio Full  Moon so this is a great week  to think about what you want to transform in your life and then, moving into Beltane;

What are you fertilizing?

What are you putting into the fire to expand and  make bigger?

What are you planting the seeds for?

What is growing in your life right now, what do you want to grow?
Sara loves to celebrate Beltane with her family. They will make a cake, with some honey frosting to get some of that bee, fairy energy in there. Violets and dandelions are growing all around their home, so  they pick some together to decorate the cake or use violets to make a violet lemonade and honey to sweeten it. They celebrate the merriment of Beltane with a fire and desserts and treats, and just have fun, welcome back the warmth.

If you like to work with fairy energy, or elementals, salamanders, trolls, dragons then this is a great time to set up a sacred space for those. Sara had a tree in her yard they call a fairy tree. At Beltane, the children will put flowers there, maybe a little food plate with a little piece of a cookie, look out for fairies and read lots of fairy books.

For Anna, Beltane is one her favorite times, when she and Sara and their families will get together, light a fire, enjoy all the cakes and drinks and honey, adult cocktails with floral scents or some sun tea,  Beltane tacos, having a meal, and some drinks, and lighting the fire because to welcome in the season. favorite times to get together.

SO light the fire, get the flower crowns out, everyone must wear a flower crown.

We have a printable guide with all kinds of fun ideas for a whole family or just by yourself.

We may not all be naked running around maypoles but you can make a little tabletop Maypole out of a stick, and then put the ribbons on it for your altar space. You can dance in your wishes for the coming season.
